My Kind of Music

My kind of Music cannot be described by a specific genre or style. The fact is I like all types of Music and Genres. The one question I have always had a hard time answering. What is your Favorite Song? What type of music do you like? For me I think the easier question would be; Is there any music you don’t like? And the answer is almost as complicated as the question; Genres, no. Songs, yes. And because I listen to all types of music. That list is still growing.

Below is a list of Popular Genres, along with YouTube Links to My Kind Of Music in Each.

Contemporary Christian –

I am a Christian, so I do like Contemporary Christian music like the Zach Williams Band and there song ‘Less Like Me’. Then there is Pentatonix – ‘Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)’. Although you will not here this song in many Churches, it speaks volumes of truth. Charlie Daniels – ‘Protected By Prayer’.

Southern Rock –

My Kind Of Music

Since I am a product of the South. Growing up in MS and AL. There are a lot of Southern Rock Bands that I like. And as truck driver, they also make great driving songs. We will start this out with Molly Hatchet’s – ‘Flirtin’ With Disaster’. And as someone who will always claim Alabama as home, I must include Lynyrd Skynyrd’s – ‘Sweet Home Alabama’.

Rockabilly (50’s and early 60’s)

Although this group did not actually get together until 1979, The Stray Cats embodied the Rockabilly Sound, and here is their ‘Stray Cat Strut’. But to hear that real Rockabilly sound, we must travel back to 1958 and listen to a live recording of Chuck Berry and his classic ‘Johnny B. Good’.

New Country

I got my first introduction to Momma Coal by way of FACEBOOK. My wife’s son put this Video up on FB because him and his girlfriend are one of the Couples Dancing in the Video. Here is Momma Coal and ‘Lead Her On’. I looked her up on YouTube and Liked every song I selected. Then there is Jordan Davis with his ‘Next Thing You Know’, which talks about how fast time goes by.

Old Country

Again we are going take a trip down memory lane. There are a lot of songs that you will not here on the radio anymore. That is why I love YouTube, because if you search their platform you can find just about any song. There have been volumes written about Hank Williams and the songs he wrote. But I will just include one here ‘Hey Good Lookin’. And after spending 20 plus years as a Truck Driver, I needed to include at least one Driving Song, and here it is, CW McCall and ‘Convoy’.

Please understand that this list is in no way complete. I doubt that there is a single storage device that could hold a complete list of the songs I like. And that list would never be Complete.
